Further Notes
ACD - Sun 13/12/1846 - CPLGB p32. Original Gravesend & Rochester Railway was built alongside the Thames & Medway Canal. Following closure for reconstruction the line was RO - 23/08/1847 with a new alignment S of original canal route at this location. See The Canals of South and South East England D&C 1969 p81-101.
The alignment of the route is approximate as it was stated to have been built "alongside the canal", but no information showing the exact alignment has yet come to light.
