Further Notes
Dairycoates Jct. - Hull (Manor House Street) CL - Mon 08/05/1848. Services diverted to newly opened Hull (Paragon) station.
RO (along with Hessle Rd. Jct. - Dairycoates Jct. and newly constructed Botanic Gardens Jct. - Anlaby Road Jct. - Hull (Victoria Dock)) - Wed 01/06/1853 - RPSGB. Service between Hull (Victoria Dock) and Hull (Manor House St.) introduced.
ACD - 01/09/1854 - C. CPLGB p18; RPSGB state 09/1854, exact date uncertain. DRS gives 01/06/1864.
Some uncertainty exists surrounding the opening and closure dates of these sections of line, along with that from Botanic Gardens Jct. - Hull (Victoria Dock). It would appear that the Hull (Victoria Dock) - Hull (Manor House St.) service, introduced from Wed 01/06/1853, was briefly diverted into Hull (Paragon) from 09/1854 (as suggested by CPLGB, RHRGB Vol4 The North East p46 and RPSGB) via the newly constructed curve from Botanic Gardens Jct. - West Parade Jct. Still proving unsuccessful, it was withdrawn completely from 11/1854. However, this curve is shown in Cobb as opening 1860. North Eastern Railway Historical Maps NE24 gives the opening as Wed 01/06/1864, which was the date from which Withernsea services were diverted from Hull (Victoria Dock) to Hull (Paragon).
