Further Notes
ACD - Thu 01/11/1860 - C; CPLGB p53; DRS. RPSGB states "clo 16 October 1860, when incline bypassed by deviation (co n Dundee ...Advertiser 16th)".
RM Dec 1951 "The Dundee & Newtyle Railway - 3" p851 states "The Auchterhouse deviation was opened on November 1, 1860...". The same article in RM Oct 1951 p694 states on the map that Balbeuchly Top closed on 01/11/1860.
Could it be that services were suspended from 16/10/1860 to facilitate the 'changeover'? In other words, the ACD was 16/10/1860, but the OCD was 01/11/1860?
