RM Mar 1931 The Oxford, Witney and Fairford Railway p191 states, "It has special interest, because in the days of strife between the OWWR and the GWR, through trains between Euston and Worcester and Wolverhampton via the L&NW main line, Bletchley, and the Bletchley and Oxford branch, were worked over this line for a few years after 1854". The article references History of the Great Western Railway E T Macdermot, pp 507, 508.
There is no evidence to date that any regular passenger services operated over the W to S curve near Oxford Rd. Jct. Cobb shows this section of line as closing completely in 1863.
