**Exact location of the L&Y station uncertain. The Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Vol 1 D&C p204 states: "At Goole, the railway passed along the north side of the Railway dock to a terminus.......alongside St John's Street, just to the south of the church". Cobb atlas appears to confirm this. Part of the route was obliterated with the construction of the Stanhope (Railway) Dock, opened in 1891.
