Also open "summer months only" 1872-6, 1878-86 and 1907-14". "FC 3.8.1914" - CPLGB p47

The North London Railway OL1 OP 1983 p18 states: "North London trains ran from Chalk Farm to Plaistow from 1869 to 1871, with some through trains to Southend. Every summer until 1886 there were through coaches to Southend or to Thames Haven (for steamboats to Margate). From 1907 to 1914 the London, Tilbury & Southend Railway (Midland after 1912) worked a regular summer service from Chalk Farm to Southend".

B900 Jul 1908 616 confirms the above, in addition to which a regular service also operated between Chalk Farm and Plaistow. This service also appears in B921 Apr 1912 626, but not the services to Southend. This suggests that for these two latter reopening periods, 1878-86 and 1907-14, a (year round?) RTS was provided between Chalk Farm and Plaistow.

Further timetable investigation required to confirm. In the meantime any further information welcome.

Otherwise, pending information to the contrary, ACD - Mon 03/08/1914.
