CL - Sat 01/07/1865 (originally named Beck Holes) along with whole line from Deviation Jct. to junction south of Goathland following opening of deviation line. RO - Wed 01/07/1908 (station renamed Beckhole) for Summer traffic. DRS incorrectly shows Beckhole OP - Sat 01/07/1865 (also bracketed notes are wrong way round).

ACD - Mon 21/09/1914 - C; DRS. Whitby and Pickering Railway, Dalesman 1973 p30 and Railways Around Whitby Vol.2, Bairstow p65 also quote this date. RPSGB states "clo end of summer 1914". CPLGB p19/46 gives "FC 21.10.1914". As this was a Wednesday it suggests this is a misprint and should read "21.09.1914".
