Further Notes
TCD - Sun 29/06/1919 - due to fire damage. Trains diverted to ex-LCD route. Tracks slewed either side of bridge to allow LC&D bridge to be brought back into use, along with the Rochester Bridge Jct. - Strood Jct. section of line (the 'Toomer Loop').
*Distance estimated using measuring tool on NLS website.
RO - Sun 08/01/1922.
It is debatable whether this constitutes a separate line of route in accordance with my own criteria. Also, as a temporary closure it would not normally qualify for inclusion. I have decided to include it along with the LCD bridge (see Rochester Bridge (LC&D)) because the two bridges were originally built and operated by two different companies serving different destinations.
Mileage is difficult to calculate exactly due to remodelling of junctions at either end.
See Kent Rail - Rochester Bridge for a full description.
