Further Notes
ACD - Mon 08/07/1929 - CPLGB p23; PNM 1980 p78. No Sunday service, LTR - Sat 06/07/1929.
Prior to the introduction of the railmotor service, (affectionately known as the 'Rishworth Pig'), branch trains departed Sowerby Bridge from the main station and reversed on to the branch. A small sleeper-built platform of one coach length was built on the branch 12c from the junction and was brought into use on Friday 01/03/1907. It would appear that at holiday times trains were made up of normal carriage stock which would presumably entail a reverse at Sowerby Bridge. Confirmation of this would be welcome.
On the basis of the foregoing, the whole branch from the junction is deemed to have closed from the same date, even though the LTR over that 12c of line was probably earlier. One can be too pedantic!
