**The Metropolitan District Railway OP OL12 p39/40 gives a brief account of this section of line. It states that "For all practical purposes, the Whitechapel Junction curve ceased to be used for public traffic on and from 20 November 1939, but one or two very early and very late workings of stock traversed the curve and carried passengers until 6 October 1941, since when the line has been closed. Its only regular use is to enable rolling stock from the East London line to reach the Acton overhaul works".

These latter services are unspecified and a close study of B1285 Aug 1940 has failed to uncover any such operations. Were they timetabled, perhaps advertised locally or possibly unadvertised worksmens' trains?
