Further Notes
ACD - Mon 05/06/1950 - withdrawal of RTS Malton - Driffield and closure of intermediate stations - PNM 1980 p37. No Sunday service, LTR - Sat 03/06/1950.

The section of line between Scarborough Rd. Jct (including a short section of track approx. 10c towards Driffield for use as a headshunt to facilitate reversal) and Malton East Jct., along with Scarborough Rd Jct. - Sessay Wood Jct., was used by summer Saturday trains between Glasgow, Edinburgh & Newcastle and Scarborough avoiding York until LTR 08/09/1962 - BLN 426 p176/5. Interesting to note that these trains appeared in the timetable as "via Gilling", though neither the station nor the line appeared in any table or on the network map.
This section of line, along with Scarborough Rd. Jct. - Gilling - Kirkbymoorside, also used for excursions until LTR Sunday 03/05/1964 - DSW; RPSGB.
