OCD - Mon 01/10/1951? RM Nov 1951 p783 states: "It has been decided not to restore the passenger services on the London Midland Region branch from Sutton Junction to Sutton-in-Ashfield, which had been withdrawn as a temporary measure". No dates are given, so it has to be assumed the oft-quoted date of 26/09/1949 was a TCD and that, as this statement follows several recorded closure dates of 01/10/1951 in the same piece and this is also the same date as the workmens' service ceased to run, the OCD was also 01/10/1951.
