RHRGB Vol.8 S&W Yorkshire p293: "....May 1982 saw some Nottingham-Manchester trains cutting out the Sheffield reversal by a re-routing from Chesterfield via the North Midland main line, Beighton and Woodhouse junctions, the ex-Great Central and Nunnery junction. The same path was followed by the European, a new Harwich-Glasgow and Edinburgh service introduced in 1983".
