The last timetable entry for through services between Seaforth & Litherland and Seaforth Sands appears in B1273 Aug 1939 p1089. After that I have been unable to trace any reference to through services, which suggests the service was curtailed at the outbreak of WW2 and never reinstated. However, anecdotal and photographic evidence suggests a through service did continue until closure. Certainly, trains were run over this section of line on the last day, Sunday 30/12/1956.
Any clarification/confirmation would be most welcome.
