**An hourly SuO Bradford (Forster Sq.) - Knaresborough service operated "in summer 1960" due to "congestion at Leeds" - The Railways of Harrogate and District, J Rogers, NERA 2000. According to BLN 1382-2052 the service ran from 01/05/1960 - 11/09/1960 incl. However, whilst BR(NE) tt 13 Jun - 11 Sep 1960 Tables 25 & 41 show the service, BR(NE) tt 2 Nov 1959 - 12 Jun 1960 does not. This indicates the service actually operated Sundays only from 19/06/1960 - 11/09/1960, unless it was introduced from the earlier date at short-notice, as the circumstances might suggest, after the winter 1959/60 timetable was published. Confirmation of this would be welcome.
In addition to this, BLN 1382-2052 also notes that Arthington West - North Jcts. continued in use by a seasonal dated service between West Hartlepool/Saltburn and Blackpool (Central). BR (NE) tt 17 Jun - 8 Sep 1963 Tables 36, 38 & 42 shows a SO 13 Jul - 10 Aug 9 40 am Saltburn/10 7 am West Hartlepool - Blackpool (Central); SO 20 Jul - 17 Aug 1 5 pm Blackpool (Central) - West Hartlepool/Saltburn.
