ACD - Wed 01/12/1926 - from which RTS ceased and was "reduced to summer only", according to RPSGB. Quick goes on to say "1927. Sundays from 17 April, Thursdays and Saturdays added in May; ceased after 25 September 1927". Subsequently, sporadic and intermittent summer seasonal services operated until final closure after "last advertised excursion, from Birmingham area, 25 August 1957".
RM Nov 1957 p808; PNM 1980 p89 quote ACD as 01/10/1957 and latter also states "Regular service ceased -/9/1927. Used in summer only until 1929 and from 1935".
Clearly this is down to individual interpretation of a 'regular service'. It may well be that the service advertised in 1927 was intended to continue indefinitely, though RPSGB would suggest otherwise. Applying my own criteria for RTS I will go with the 01/12/1926 closure date, though when the last RTS ran is uncertain without checking the relevant timetables.
