Further Notes

ACD - Mon 09/06/1958 - PNM 1980 p41. No Sunday service, LTR - Sat 07/06/1958.

Services to/from Heathfield operated from a dedicated platform for the Exeter line. Although the line from Exeter trailed in south facing, the junction on to the Moretonhampstead line originally faced north, so any potential through sevice to Newton Abbot would have required a double reversal at Heathfield. A south-facing junction, obviating the need to reverse, was installed c.1920 - RM Jun 1929 p430.
