Further Notes

ACD - Mon 10/09/1962 - PNM 1980 p36 - date RTS withdrawn and intermediate stations closed. No Sunday service, LTR - Sat 08/09/1962.

N.B. Ditton Jct. No.1 - Broadheath Jct. (including the section of line to Northenden Jct. and Stockport Edgeley No.2 Jct.) continued to be used by the overnight Liverpool (Lime St.) - York 'mail train'. Latterly this was the 2235 SuO Liverpool (Lime St.) - York which continued to call at Warrington Bank Quay (Low Level) until LTR Sun 11/07/1965 - DSW. As this service qualifies as RTS (regular timetabled service) I acknowledge that this should determine the ACD for this line. However, as it traversed other sections of line it would require a disproportionate and inappropriate amount of splitting of lines that would bear little relation to the normal RTS operated. So here is the inevitable exception to the rule!

The line between (Walton Jct. -) Arpley Jct. and Broadheath Jct. (-Stockport Edgeley No.2 Jct.) continued in use by seasonal dated trains, the last being the 1625 SO Llandudno - York dated 12/06/1971 - 04/09/1971 - BLN 202 p79.
