Arguably this section and the line from Pyle to Tondu could be classed as a single line of route. The RCH map clearly represents them as such, but the implication of a separate station from the main line is incorrect. The branch was served by a platform as part of the Down main line platform (see plan above). On the other hand, the line from Tondu only briefly flirts with the main line before parting company towards Porthcawl.
The deciding factor in showing them separately is the question mark over when the service actually ceased between Pyle and Tondu. Timetable records suggest it was withdrawn before the actual/official line closure. See Pyle (excl.) - Tondu (excl.).
