OCD - Mon 02/11/1964. ACD - Wed 26/10/1960, due to damage to Severn Bridge after being struck by two barges. LTR - Tue 25/10/1960 - PNM 1980 p62.
*Table 50 is headed "Berkeley Road and Lydney Town" and a headnote states "Owing to damage to the Severn Bridge, Lydney Town and Severn Bridge Stations are temporarily closed for passengers". This presumably reflected the intentions at the time to repair and reopen the bridge. A subsequent collision caused further damage to the bridge and as a consequence it was decided to close the line permanently and dismantle the bridge.
