Further Notes

Portobello Jct. - Willenhall Bridge (excl.) CL - Wed 01/01/1873 along with the line from Portobello Jct. - Bushbury Jct. This former section was RO - Tue 01/03/1881 when the LNWR introduced a service between Wolverhampton and Walsall, "made possible by the opening of a curve from the Midland at Heath Town to Portobello, and the 'Pleck' curve" - RHRGB Vol7  The West Midlands p31/2. See Portobello Jct - Bushbury (Oxley) Jct.

ACD - Mon 18/01/1965 - PNM 1980 p91. No Sunday service, LTR - Sat 16/01/1965.

RO - Sun 24/05/1998 - BLN 823; 828-535. Introduction of Wolverhampton - Walsall service. This appears to have been withdrawn from 13/12/2008 (BLN 1072 703), though this only affected Darlaston Jct. - Pleck Jct, as remainder of route to Crane St. Jct. carried "other booked passenger trains".

According to Wikipedia - Walsall - Wolverhampton Line the service was not a success and confirms withdrawal date. But, a 'Parliamentary' train continues to run, (Dec 2019 - 0542 SO Wolverhampton - Walsall), intended to forestall closure procedures. Currently this train is running in the guise of the 0543 SO Wolverhampton - Rugeley (Trent Valley).

Any further information welcome.
