This line and Rugby - Market Harborough (see Rugby No.1 Jct. - Market Harborough No.1 Jct. (divergence point)) illustrate the difficulty in defining precisely a "Line of Route". Administratively, the entire line from Rugby - Peterborough was one line of route, reflecting ownership and services operated. Physically and practically, the section of line from Market Harborough station to Great Bowden Jct. was common to the Midland Railway main line with which it ran parallel. The LNWR station, shown as separate from the MR station on the RCH map, was again physically and practically part of the same station. RPSGB, DRS, OS Maps and other sources record the station as 'LNWR and MR Joint Station'.
