N.B. The network of lines and stations serving the numerous Southampton docks was quite complicated. Most were served by special or charter trains that were not advertised, as far as can be ascertained, in normal public timetables and therefore do not qualify as RTS. However, some clearly were. Throughout the 1950's and 60's and possibly earlier, trains were advertised in public timetables as serving "Southampton Docks" station, as distinct from Terminus. The exact location of this station is uncertain and further investigation will be carried out when time permits. In the meantime any information on this and other stations serving the various docks would be greatly appreciated.
