Line continued in use for SDS. LTR - Saturday 26/08/1967 - BLN 92 253 25/10/1967 - "Last day of operation - summer seasonal service". PSUL 1967-8 P4 gives 0800 SO Nottingham (Midland) - Blackpool (North) and 1400 SO Blackpool (North) - Nottingham (Midland), both 15/07/1967 - 26/08/1967. PSUL 1967-8 amendments p3 confirms "Ceased after 1967 season - last ran 26 August 1967".
Last Train from Trent Station, Kingscott, 2007 p81 states that "On August 30, 1967, all stopping passenger services between North Erewash Junction and Trent Station North Junction, and between Trowell Junction and Long Eaton Junction, were withdrawn". As this date is a Wednesday this must be incorrect and the date presumably was intended to be the 26/08/1967, which in turn is erroneously quoted as the date for the cessation of the local services.
DRS & RPSGB both record the intermediate stations on the line towards Trowell Jct. (e.g. Stapleford) as closing from 02/01/1967 - see Trent Station North Jct. - Trowell Jct.
