Further Notes
TC 01/01/1917; RO 01/02/1919 - RPSGB.
OCD - Mon 06/05/1968; LTR - Mon 25/09/1967 - PNM 1980 p12; DRS; RPSGB; C; BLN (see below).
RHRGB Vol6 Scotland D&C 1984 p140/287 gives LTR - Fri 10/09/1965; OCD - Mon 18/04/1966.
BLN 51 23/02/1966 also gives OCD - Mon 18/04/1966 & LTR - Fri 10/09/1965, but BLN 58 01/06/1966 states these closure dates cancelled and Montgomerie Pier "Will be used by Isle of Man and Belfast boat trains this summer". BLN 93 08/11/1967 goes on to explain that "next summer" (ie 1968) Montgomerie Pier station will continue in use in connection with the IoMSP Co sailings unless the closure proposal is agreed to by the Minister of Transport. BLN Station Closure, Supplement No.6 January 1969 confirms OCD as 06/05/1968, so presumably MoT duly gave permission for closure. No confirmation of LTR in BLN.
**Montgomerie Pier station appears in index of 1964 timetable by name, but as footnote against Winton Pier station entry for services in connection with Douglas and Belfast sailings. BR (ScR) 6 May 67 timetable makes no reference to Montgomerie Pier station.
*Mileage from Stevenston Moorpark. Stevenston No.1 Jct. created when new connection to G&SW line opened from 16/06/1947.
